How this year is flying past – wasn’t it Christmas only a few weeks ago, and now it’s nearly Easter.
We’ve had a busy – thumb twiddling – few weeks. We have either been flat out, or flat out doing nothing, or flat out doing dozens of fiddly little jobs that seem to fly under the radar.
Highlights recently have been a delicious dinner out at Twine Restaurant – another must visit for anyone new to the Hunter Valley – then we slipped down the Newcastle for a day on the beach and scrummy lunch at Coco Monde – and then snuck away for a couple of magnificent days at beautiful Hawks Nest.
As for the garlic … the delicious … the desirable looking … please eat me garlic … we are nearly reading for planting. One more hoe of the field once the ground dries a little and we are ready.
Ben from Total Eden irrigation has ordered our watering system. We’ll be using a John Deere product called T-tape that allows good ground soakage and reduces weep hole clogging – perfect for garlic.
We’re getting just a tad excited as I piece together the labelling stakes and we have just arranged our postage through an Australia Post bulk manager, so we can offer our customers the best possible delivery deal.
However, the biggest news of the last few weeks – our Facebook page has launched. Don’t hesitate to like us and follow the adventure of Pokolbin Purple’s garlic … if nothing else, I have learnt how to become a pretty darn good photographer.
Here’s to great wine, food and friends
